Pineapple Cleansing Juice

The tropical, summer fruit pineapple is a favorite among many.  Not only is it sweet and juicy, it contains antioxidants and the enzyme bromelain, which helps to digest proteins.  Try this sweet and spicy cleansing drink.

Pineapple Cleansing Juice
1/4 pineapple
1 apple
1/2 beet
2 carrots
1/4 cup parsley
1/4 inch slice of fresh ginger

Wash all produce.  Remove top of pineapple, then remove the skin and core.  Cut remaining produce to fit in your juice extractor. Roll the parsley leaves into a ball to create density.  Juice and enjoy.

Bok Choy Juice Recipes

Upon seeing this photo today of a giant bok choy I wondered if it would fit in my juicer machine chute!  Then I realized that I have never made juice with this amazing vegetable.  So I searched for a couple of recipes to try.

Stalks of Health Green Juice
1 apple
2 stalks of celery

4 stalks bok choy
handful spinach
small bunch parsley

Wash fruits and vegetables, cut to size and put through your juicer.
Bok Choy-Celery-Orange Pressed Juice
1 head bok choy, stalks separated and washed
5 celery stalks
1-2 large oranges, peeled and quartered
Wash fruits and vegetables.  Put bok choy through juicer, one stalk at a time.  Add celery, then oranges through juicer.   Recipe from Green Lemonade.

Carrot Bok Choy Juice

5-7 carrots
1 head bok choy
Wash and separate stalks of bok choy.  Wash carrots (peel if not organic).  Put through juice extractor one at a time.  Pour into glass.

Simple Advice for Healthy Nutrition

I highly advise keeping things simple when it comes to healthy nutrition.

Some simple motto’s that may help you are:

  • If it rots, its probably good for you
  • If it comes from a plant eat it, if it is made in a plant stay away
  • Lean, Green, and Marine
  • Eat real food
  • No “sugar free” or “fat free” foods
  • Stay away from foods with ingredients you cannot pronounce

Common sense and excellent advice. Dr Mercola's always spot on. Getting more green plants in your diet is so important yet often overlooked. I'm all for the smoothies to get my veggies in!

Making just one juice a day on a regular basis can greatly improve your immune system and overall health.  If you find that you feel a cold coming on or just need an extra immunity boost, then try this beneficial juice recipe featuring garlic.

Immune Secret Juice

6 carrots

handful parsley
1-2 cloves of garlic

Prepare vegetables by washing.  Peel carrots if not organic.  Cut into pieces that will fit into your juice extractor.  Push through juicer to make juice.  Enjoy. Note:  parsley can be bunched or rolled into a tight ball to make it more dense and yield more juice.

Green Smoothies with Alexander

I wanted to share a video with you today about green smoothies.  Here's my friend Alexander Morentin creating smoothies and explaining the health benefits.  Green smoothies are similar to juices made in a juice machine, but the fiber remains in the drink.  All you need for this is a blender and some fresh green veggies.

In September we'll by having Smoothie Month over at my blog My Juice Cleanse, so don't forget to stop by!
